OUR STORY After spending 14 wonderful years owning and operating stores on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, we decided to move back to Julie's hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Upon arriving back on the mainland we took some time off to play. We drove to Steve’s family in Minnesota, we saw the leaves change, Steve played a lot of tennis and we did many of the things that island life could not provide. But we soon realized we only could play so long. We knew we wanted to work hard again—however, we also really liked the play time. After the farmers market one Saturday morning while sitting on a park bench overlooking the water in downtown St. Petersburg, we tried to figure out what would be next. With the idea of work and play in mind, the in search of balance t-shirt line was born. We have had a lot of fun developing the line and would like to give a special thank you to Julie’s mom, Charline, for her amazing contribution to the creation of our shirts. Her efforts made our life a lot easier. Moms are great! Seeing reactions to our shirts is always intriguing as is hearing how universal the challenge of balance is in all our lives. We hope our shirts bring a smile to your face and maybe remind you to do the things you love, the things you enjoy, the things that bring happiness to living.

THE STORE During those wonderful years on St. Thomas we were very busy with five stores: from candy to toys to clothing to local artwork. So after launching the t-shirt line and loving the revitalization of downtown St. Petersburg, we found we still had the retail bug in us. We have since opened in search of balance—the store within a stones throw of the park bench where the t-shirt line was conceived. Of course our t-shirts are prominently displayed and we also carry various lines of clothing that fit a casual, comfy lifestyle. We feature Patagonia, Horny Toad, Prana, Keen, Reef, Chaco and so much more. Please come in and visit if you’re in the area.
